Castell-y-Gwynt is situated near Trefeglwys in the heart of Mid-Wales high up in the mountains in the beautiful unspoiled county of Montgomeryshire.

At over 1000 feet the views from Jane's home over the Severn and Trannon valleys are breathtaking.

The village of Trefeglwys is one and a half miles away, which hosts a great village shop and post office, and the Red Lion public house.

Six miles away is the old market town of Llanidloes and to the East, twelve miles away, is Newtown.

One of the most rural and beautiful parts of Great Britain, Trefeglwys is geographically situated right in the centre of Mid Wales, so relatively short journeys have to be made to explore the Snowdonia National Park in the North, the West coastline, and the mountainous Brecon Beacons to the South.

Lakes and dams are dotted throughout Mid-Wales, where ramblers and cyclists alike, enjoy the scenery, wildlife, slow pace of life, pubs and interesting old towns and villages.
